In the late 1990’s Armco® Barriers Pty Ltd acquired the rights to the ARMCO® Brand and since then has continued the tradition of local manufacture to the highest quality standards. The unique "W" profile has become the industry standard, standing as a symbol of unwavering safety.
Originally designed as a roadside safety solution, ARMCO® Barriers didn't stop there. The “W Beam” barrier applications now include distribution centres, car parks, factories and gas tank protection.
We also provide a comprehensive range of ancillary products that complement our W Beam profile. The ARMCO® "W" Beam System
The W - Beam system is based on 3 critical factors:
- The W Beam is manufactured to the correct specification.
- The post is designed by engineers to suit the various impacts & loads specified in the various Road Authority Specs, Building Codes/ Australian Standards.
- The anchor point or footing (in-ground or surface mount) will perform as expected.
“W” Beam Rails
The most famous of the ARMCO® components,
In high speed/low angle impacts the W Beam Railgard captures and guides the vehicle re-directing into a safe path.
In lower speed impacts it not only re-directs but, when required, provides a gentle but firm stop to protect people and assets from vehicle impacts.
To comply with the standards guardrail is required to meet stringent specifications and profile.
W Beam Railgard is supplied in a range of lengths to suit your requirements.
Strong Post System
Whilst the W Beam Rail receives a lot of the attention, it's actually the Posts & Footings which do a lot of work under impact.
For this reason, ARMCO® supplies its engineered “Strong Post”. The “U” shape post is brake pressed from 6mm plate and the Hot Dip Galvanised after manufacture.
In-Ground Posts
Traditionally used alongside roadways, the Strong Post is supplied without a base plate and rammed in position. As well as the strong posts system, Armco® still manufactures the G4 post system.
ARMCO® also supplies and installs the proprietary ”Weak Post” systems on the market. However unlike other suppliers we are not tied to any particular system and as installers we can provide the most appropriate solution for your project.
